Product Details

Description:
Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a potent antioxidant that plays a critical role in combating free radicals, which can damage cells and even speed up the aging process. Because ALA can function in both the water and lipid compartments of the cell, it has been called the universal antioxidant.

In addition, ALA plays a key role in maintaining the body's antioxidant status. Because it has been found to help replenish Vitamin C and glutathione (crucial for cellular and liver detoxification), it is therefore important in the body's ability to remove toxins and waste material safely. ALA also helps to recycle Vitamin E.

Finally, ALA helps to promote cellular and muscular energy production by working as a coenzyme in the metabolism of sugars. ALA is therefore an important nutrient for the support of healthy glucose and insulin utilization by the cell.
