Description:
Buffered ascorbic acid combines calcium ascorbate,magnesium ascorbate, and potassium ascorbate to createa neutral pH vitamin C. This special form of ascorbic acidlessens possible gastric irritation in sensitive individuals.

The ascorbic acid in this formula is derived from corndextrose fermentation. The minerals in this formula arenaturally derived from limestone. Ascorbyl palmitate inBuffered Ascorbic Acid capsules is also derived from corndextrose fermentation and palm oil.

Vitamin C has been reported to promotenitric oxide activity as well as to help maintainhealthy platelet function. It supports the body's defensesystem by enhancing white blood cell function andactivity, and increasing interferon levels, antibodyresponses, and secretion of thymic hormones.Furthermore, this antioxidant has histamine loweringproperties and increases lymphocyte formation. buffered ascorbic acid 1,000 mg.
providing vitamin C equivalent of 511 mg. from:
calcium ascorbate 520 mg,magnesium ascorbate 340 mg,potassium ascorbate 140 mg,vitamin C (as ascorbyl palmitate) 20 mg.


Servings:
Pure Encapsulations recommends 2-8 capsules per day,in divided doses, between meals, or as directed by physician.

Caution:
If pregnant or lactating, consult your physician before takingthis product. People with the following conditions shouldconsult their doctor before supplementing with vitamin C:glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, ironoverload (hemosiderosis or hemochromatosis), history ofkidney stones, or kidney failure. It has been suggested thatpeople who form calcium oxalate kidney stones shouldavoid vitamin C supplements because vitamin C canconvert into oxalate and increase urinary oxalate. Buffered ascorbic acid may react with mixedamphetamines (a specific amphetamine combinationused to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit disorder)and blood thinning medications. Consult your physicianfor more information.
